Macquarie boosts European advisory service with double hire
Global financial and investment advisory firm Macquarie Group has hired Matthew Taylor as head of business services and Henry Elphick as a senior consultant for its European business.
Taylor joins Macquarie from DC Advisory, where he worked as a consultant for business services between 2006-2017. He was responsible for executing cross-border transactions in a wide range of sectors, including the acquisition of K2 Partnering Solutions, the sale of Six Degrees and the sale of Cambridge Education Group. He also has experience from KPMG between 2003-2006.
He will report to Jacques Callaghan, Macquarie's senior managing director, and Hugh Briggs, the head of Macquarie Capital Europe's capital and principal solutions group.
Prior to Macquarie, Elphick worked at Jefferies International between 2009-2016 as managing director. He provided M&A and fundraising advice across the healthcare services sectors, including for Al Noor, Cygnet Health Care and Alliance Boots. Prior to that, he worked at UBS Investment Bank between 1999-2009 as managing director and at Rothschild between 1997-1999 as assistant manager.
