University of Calgary hiring PE investment adviser
The University of Calgary has issued a request for proposals from firms or individuals to provide its investment committee with investment consulting services in the areas of private equity and private infrastructure.
The university's investment committee is responsible for the investment of the endowment, which is valued at $900m, according to the proposal.
In 2016, the investment committee approved a change to the endowment asset mix to include a 10% allocation to private equity and a 10% allocation to private infrastructure.
The selected firm(s) will be responsible for conducting a strategic review of the endowment's investment activities, as well as developing a strategy framework and investment philosophy for private investments.
Proposals are due by 21 December at 2pm Alberta time and the deadline for questions is 14 December.
Firms including Aon Hewitt, Blackrock, Hamilton Lane, PwC and Raymond James have registered their interest by requesting the proposal documents.
The University of Calgary currently has $1.88bn in assets under management and no private investments, according to its most recent annual report.
