Hayfin launches PE strategy
European credit platform Hayfin Capital Management has launched a new private equity funds strategy, unquote" sister publication Creditflux has learned.
Through the new strategy, it is understood Hayfin will make primary and secondary investments in third-party European mid-market private equity funds. It will also originate and participate in equity co-investment opportunities in partnership with those funds.
Tim Flynn, CEO of Hayfin Capital Management, told unquote" sister publication Creditflux that the GP will make use of its long-standing lending relationships to allocate equity capital to buyout funds.
Mirja Lehmler-Brown has been appointed as a managing director and founding member for the investment team. She will be based in the London office, Creditflux understands. It is likely that Hayfin will make further appointments to the team in the near future.
Lehmler-Brown joins Hayfin from Aberdeen Asset Management, where she had worked since 2014 as an investment director for private equity. Prior to this, Lehmler-Brown was an investment director for private equity at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. She has also held the roles of executive director at Goldman Sachs and analyst at Morgan Stanley.
London-based Hayfin currently invests in credit opportunities across direct lending, special opportunities, high-yield credit and securitised credit.
