Ropes & Gray promotes Rosen and Sanderson
Law firm Ropes & Gray has promoted Will Rosen to co-managing partner of its London office and Philip Sanderson to global co-head of PE.
Rosen has worked at Ropes & Gray since 2011 and has 20 years of experience advising private equity and corporate clients on M&A transactions. He will work alongside Mike Goetz, who has been managing partner of the London office since it opened in 2010.
Sanderson joined Ropes & Gray in 2015 from Travers Smith, where he was head of private equity. He led the global PE team alongside Will Shields.
Ropes & Gray worked on high profile transactions across all continents in 2017, including advising Bain Capital on its $18bn acquisition of Toshiba's chip business, and ICG as it joined a consortium to buy Visma for an enterprise value of €4.7bn, Europe's largest ever software buyout.
