Axa Strategic Ventures rebrands to Axa Venture Partners
Corporate venture firm Axa Strategic Ventures has rebranded to Axa Venture Partners.
The firm is backed by global asset manager Axa and specialises in seed, venture and growth-stage transactions.
A rebrand reflects its approach of establishing partnerships with its portfolio companies and other VC investors, the firm said. It also seeks to illustrate its strategy of a long-term investment timeline and investment range from seed investment to growth equity, covering ticket sizes from $300,000 to $20m.
Axa Venture Partners prefers to invest in companies operating in the insurance, asset management, financial technology and healthcare service sectors. The firm's assets under management total $450m.
Since its launch in 2016, the firm has completed 32 deals. It operates five offices, in San Francisco, New York, London, Paris and Hong Kong. A team of 12 investment professionals manages two strategies: direct investment ($275m) and fund-of-funds ($175m). Axa Venture Partners held a first and final close for its $175m ASV Diversified fund-of-funds in November 2017, according to Unquote Data.
