
Maples and Calder appoints seven new partners
Law firm Maples and Calder has appointed seven new partners and three counsel across its global offices.
Tim Coak, Daniel Lee, Anthony Philp, James Reeve and Shari Seymour were promoted to partners in the firm's Cayman Islands office, while Callaghan Kennedy and Michelle Lloyd were appointed in the Dublin and Hong Kong offices, respectively.
Coak, who joined the firm in 2012, specialises in the establishment, launch, ongoing maintenance and restructuring of all types of Cayman Islands investment funds, particularly hedge funds and private equity funds.
Lee, who also joined Maples and Calder in 2012, has experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPOs and corporate restructuring. He regularly advises on a broad range of investment funds, fund finance and structured finance matters.
Philp joined the firm in 2008. He advises hedge funds, private equity funds and banks on capital commitment fund financing, as well as borrowers and lenders on aircraft financing.
Reeve advises on structured finance transactions, fund financing matters and general banking and financing work. Prior to joining Maples and Calder in 2011, Reeve worked as a banking and financing lawyer at Slaughter and May in London.
Seymour joined Maples and Calder in 2006 as an articled clerk, and upon qualifying in 2007 became a member of the firm's corporate team. Seymour's practice also includes advising private equity firms and investment managers on the formation and maintenance of all types of investment funds.
Dawson, who joined the firm in 2015, is a member of the regulatory & financial services team.
Sherwin joined the firm in 2011 and advises hedge funds, private equity funds and investment managers on fund formation, restructuring and fund transactions.
In addition, Maples and Calder appointed Tim Dawson and David Sherwin as counsel in the Cayman Islands office, and Mary O'Neill in the Dublin office.
