Hamilton Lane expands its presence in DACH
Hamilton Lane, the $471bn alternative assets management firm, has appointed Martina Schliemann as principal and head of business development in the DACH region, in a bid to expand its presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Schliemann joins from Muzinich & Co, where she served as country manager for Germany and Austria. She has previously worked as a managing director and co-head of pensions and insurance clients at Deutsche Asset Management.
"Schliemann's appointment is a key next step for Hamilton Lane as we continue to build our presence in the DACH region," said Jim Strang, managing director and head of EMEA at Hamilton Lane. "It will allow us to provide a deeper level of on-the-ground market coverage and a stronger understanding of the local dynamics, challenges and opportunities there."
Hamilton Lane's asset footprint hit a record high in the first quarter of the 2018/19 financial year, following a 30% increase compared to the previous year. Its recent commitments include Platinum Equity Small Cap Fund I, ECI 11 and Bridgepoint Europe VI, among others.
