TRS commits €125m to Triton Fund V
Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), the €127bn pension fund, has committed €125m to Triton Fund V, according to a spokesperson for the LP.
Triton Fund V is a European buyout fund, focusing on mid-market buyout opportunities in northern Europe. It is looking for companies in the industrial, business services, consumer and healthcare sectors. The fund is understood to be targeting €3bn.
Anther LP backing Triton Fund V is Los Angeles County Employees' Retirement Association (Lacera), which recently approved a commitment of up to €150m.
TRS has allocated 12.5% of its portfolio to private equity as of December 2017, versus a target allocation of 13%. The private equity portfolio includes investments in buyouts, growth equity and venture capital, as well as credit and special situations.
The pension scheme has recently committed €125m to Vista Equity Partners Fund VII, €245m to Hellman and Friedman Capital Partners IX and €150m to Bridgepoint Europe VI.
