Bridgepoint hires GI's Fraser to lead new US office
Bridgepoint has opened a US office to be led by former GI Partners managing director Alexander Fraser.
The new office in San Francisco will provide Bridgepoint with a base from which to both increase its investment in US-based companies pursuing expansion into Europe, and support existing portfolio companies looking to expand in the US.
Fraser joins Bridgepoint as a partner after 13 years at GI Partners, leaving his role as senior adviser, having previously served as GI's managing director.
Bridgepoint is the latest in a flurry of UK-based PE houses to have established a presence in the US, with smaller-cap players including Livingbridge and Synova doing likewise towards the end of 2017.
The GP is currently investing its sixth flagship fund, which held a final close on its €5.7bn hard-cap in December 2017.
