
US pension scheme earmarks $60m for PE
San Antonio Fire and Police Pension Fund is set to commit $60m to private equity in 2019, according to minutes from the March board of trustees meeting.
The minutes also reveal that the $3.1bn pension scheme is looking to begin a search for a private equity co-investment fund.
The investor has a 7% target allocation to private equity, and 3% to real assets. It has previously committed to Exponent Private Equity Partners IV, Landmark Equity Partners XVI and Apollo Investment Fund IX.
San Antonio Fire and Police Pension Fund, a single-employer defined-benefit retirement plan, is eligible to employees of the fire and police departments of the city of San Antonio who have served for 20 years.
