Apex hires head of ESG product
Apex Group, a $650bn financial services provider, has appointed Amara Goeree as global head of environmental, social and governance (ESG) products.
Goeree's responsibilities include leading the product development and the strategy of the Bermuda-based firm.
Her appointment comes as the Apex Group is launching an ESG data and rating service, Apex GreenLight ESG Ratings.
GreenLight is set to deliver an in-house-developed ESG rating, evaluating privately held companies globally. Other services include providing market intelligence, and delivering consulting services to support the integration of ESG across clients' due diligence, value creation and reporting processes.
Apex Group is setting up the new service as it expands its capabilities in order to meet client demand, while further focusing on ESG innovation.
Goeree joins from Julius Baer, where she served as head of corporate sustainability and responsible investment. She has previously worked for RobecoSAM and Corio.
Apex Group focuses on fund, financial and corporate services, and a broad range of clients spanning asset management, allocators and financial institutions. It has served private equity funds since 2003.
