Goldman Sachs creates sustainable finance group
Goldman Sachs has launched a sustainable finance group to deliver sustainable growth investment products to its clients, according to documents seen by Unquote.
The formation of the new group comes as the organisation seeks to deliver sustainability and impact investing expertise to its clients. Precise details of the venture have not yet been released, but Goldman Sachs claims it will prioritise inclusive economic growth and address climate change.
John Goldstein will be responsible for leading the sustainable finance group. Goldstein previously co-founded sustainable investments firm Imprint Capital, which Goldman Sachs Asset Management acquired in 2015.
Other members of the new sustainability group are Kyung-Ah Park and Kara Succoso Mangone. Park's responsibilities include leading the environmental markets work and driving innovative finance. Mangone is chief operating officer.
A cross-divisional steering group, consisting of senior business leaders, will support the new group's efforts.
