HSBC expands alternatives team with Huitron
HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Jorge Huitron to serve within the alternatives team as senior product specialist for private markets.
Huitron joins from Aon Hewitt, where he advised on private equity investment across pension plans in his role as senior consultant. He also previously worked for BFinance.
Based in London, Huitron's new responsibilities include strengthening the organisation's private markets capability, as well as connecting clients to the growing potential of private markets.
Huitron will report to Steven Ward, who serves as global head of alternative products within HSBC Global Asset Management.
Huitron's appointment follows the recent hire of Shantini Nair as senior product specialist, focusing on infrastructure debt.
The alternatives team currently oversees investments across private debt, hedge funds, infrastructure equity, direct real estate and infrastructure debt.
The HSBC Global Asset Management Alternatives team manages and advises on $39.2bn in assets as of June 2019, out of which $4.7bn is committed capital in private equity, hedge funds and infrastructure debt.
