Pantheon appoints Jain to partner, head of private debt

Pantheon Group has hired Rick Jain as partner and head of its global private debt business.
Jain is based in the firm's New York office. He was previously managing director and investment committee member at Star Mountain Capital, a private credit firm based in New York. Prior to that, he founded and managed an investment firm that focused on flexible private debt and structured equity for mid-market US companies. He has also had experience at Stone Tower Capital, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.
Pantheon stated it plans to hire additional private debt resources in both London and New York. Toni Vainio currently leads European private debt origination and investments, while Francesco di Valmarana chairs the global credit committee, which Jain will also join.
Pantheon has been active in the private debt space since 1997 and has approximately $1.5bn committed to investment opportunities across secondaries and primaries.
