
StepStone names secondaries-focused Johnston as partner
Private markets manager StepStone Group has appointed Adam Johnston to partner, in a series of internal promotions.
Based in New York, Johnston is a member of the private equity team, focusing on secondaries and distressed investments. His responsibilities include sourcing, analysis, negotiation and leading transactions.
Prior to joining StepStone in 2013, he served as a senior associate at Equifin Alternative Investments.
The other three employees that were named as partners include Suzanne Tavill (global head of responsible investing), Sheila Gibson (head of fund accounting), and Kieran Farrelly (real estate team).
The organisation is currently fundraising for its StepStone Secondary Opportunities Fund IV, which has a $1bn target size.
Among the LP that have invested in the fund are Cathay Life Insurance, Fubon Life Insurance and Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension System.
