Houlihan Lokey launches new GP advisory practice
Joseph Lombardo has joined the US investment bank Houlihan Lokey as its head of the firm's new private equity GP advisory practice.
Based in New York, Lombardo's new role will involve helping general partners with GP minority and majority stake sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, product development, succession planning, and establishment of private and permanent capital vehicles.
He joins from Stonyrock Partners, where he spent a year as a principal on the investment team for the Stonyrock Alts Fund. Prior to that, he spent nearly five years at The Carlyle Group, most recently as an investment professional on the firm's GP minority stakes strategy, and before that in Carlyle's corporate development group, which focused on developing and executing the firm's strategy.
Lombardo's previous experience includes researching and advising asset managers at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley.
