HSBC Vision Private Equity 2020 closes on $260m

HSBC Global Asset Management has closed its HSBC Vision Private Equity 2020 Fund on $260m.
This is the second generation of HSBC Vision funds, which offer exposure to a globally diversified portfolio by geography, sector and strategy. The fund's predecessor raised $250m in 2019.
The firm plans to launch the next in the series of its Vision funds in Q4 2020.
Investors in the fund include HSBC Private Banking and HSBC Global AM's institutional clients.
The vehicle will target a wide variety of private equity opportunities, from primaries and secondaries to direct co-investments.
"We believe there is a strong crop of private equity managers to choose from in this period of lower valuations," said Steven Ward, head of alternative products at HSBC Global AM.
The fund benefits from the large scale of HSBC Global AM's institutional mandate platform, which committed $1.7bn in capital during 2019 to private equity.
Vision Private Equity 2020 follows the close of four single-vintage private equity opportunities completed by HSBC Global AM over the past 12 months. With a total of $800m raised in commitments, investors were given an opportunity to invest in a diverse range of alternative strategies, including real estate equity and debt, secondaries, co-investments, and impact investment strategies.
HSBC Global AM's alternative allocation comprises $52.6bn in assets, with $25.6bn across private market funds and mandates.
