Ely Place appoints Leppla as partner
Ely Place Partners has hired Stephan Leppla as a partner.
Leppla has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, the insurance industry and private markets. He has worked at a senior level for Axa, Allianz and several other European and global firms. He also worked in the German diplomatic service.
Ely Place is a specialist adviser in alternative assets. It assists private equity, credit, infrastructure and venture GPs to raise capital from institutions in Europe and the Middle East. It also acts as an intermediary on private equity secondary transactions, and as adviser to GPs in the restructuring of funds and the raising of co-invest capital.
In addition to its placement services, the firm also offers broader GP consultancy advice including pre-fundraising marketing, fundraising strategy, documentation and presentation planning, due diligence support and investor relations.
Ely Place is currently advising TriSpan on the European fundraising of its TriSpan Opportunities Fund II, which recently held a first close. It has also advised its US credit client PennantPark on the imminent final closing of its Credit Opportunities Fund III.
The firm has advised on two secondary transactions this year and is close to completing its third. It has additionally completed four GP advisory mandates, providing pre-fundraising advice to GPs on market positioning, fundraising strategy, marketing documentation and targeted introductions to key LPs.
