17Capital makes raft of senior promotions
Preferred equity specialist 17Capital has announced a number of promotions, including the appointment of Robert de Corainville as managing partner.
In addition to new managing partner de Corainville, 17Capital has also named David Wilson and Stephen Quinn as co-heads of credit; Emad Shahin as general counsel; and Stephen Swentzel, Richard Golaszewski and Owen James as new managing directors.
De Corainville joined 17Capital in 2010 and was made partner in 2014, having previously worked at Merrill Lynch and Lloyds Banking Group. He relocated from London to set up the firm's New York office in late 2016.
Wilson and Quinn will co-head 17Capital's NAV-based credit offering and will join the firm's investment committee. Wilson previously held senior roles in JP Morgan's fund financing team and at Lehman Brothers. Prior to joining 17Capital, Quinn was global head of financial sponsors at Lloyds Banking Group.
Shahin, who was previously head of legal for investments, takes overall responsibility for all legal matters across the firm, while still overseeing execution across all investments. He joined 17Capital in 2019, having previously held senior roles at JP Morgan and Nomura.
In addition to these promotions and those of Swentzel, Golaszewski and James to managing director, 17Capital also made additions to its supervisory board. Dee Dee Sklar and Beverly Berman have joined the board as senior advisers to assist with firm-level decisions such as new strategy launches or key hires. 17Capital stated it now has a majority female supervisory board.
