Former Amazon exec Garambois joins Advent as operating partner
Advent International has appointed Xavier Garambois as an operating partner.
Garambois has experience of the e-commerce and logistics sectors, having spent 18 years at Amazon and leading the company's European consumer business from 2012 until 2020. Prior to that role, Garambois spent seven years as president of Amazon.fr, having originally joined Amazon.fr as finance director in 2002.
Before joining Amazon, he co-founded wineandco.com, a French wine e-commerce company, and began his career with Banque Paribas.
Garambois will work with a number of investment teams at Advent to advise on digital and technology uptake, the firm said in a statement.
"Enhancing the use of digital and technology across multiple sectors is a core focus for us in Europe, which can be very important in helping our portfolio companies achieve greater expansion and long-term sustainable performance," said Advent managing director Nicolas Chavanne.
