Dawn promotes Plotnikova to general partner
B2B software investor Dawn Capital has promoted Evgenia Plotnikova to general partner.
According to to the venture capital firm, this makes Plotnikova the youngest woman promoted internally to general partner in Europe. Dawn's partnership includes two female partners out of five and the firm said it has a 50:50 gender balance across its investment committee, investment team and full team.
Having joined Dawn in March 2018 as principal, Plotnikova was promoted to partner in December 2019, making her the firm's first female partner. She leads software-as-a-service deals and co-manages the firm's founder, VC and investor relationships across Europe and Israel along with the other partners.
Plotnikova has helped raise more than USD 1bn for Dawn's funds, according to the firm. Investments she has worked on include AI and machine-learning company Dataiku, cloud data warehouse Firebolt, and spend-management platform Soldo.
Prior to Dawn, Plotnikova spent several years at pan-European VC Atomico and private equity firm TPG. She started her career at JP Morgan.
The Dawn Capital IV fund was launched in February 2020 and held a final close in July 2020 on its USD 400m hard-cap. Dawn also held a final close for its second opportunities fund on USD 120m in July 2021.
