Volpi hires Fairlie from Synova
Volip Capital, a tech specialist mid-market private equity firm, has hired Scott Fairlie from Synova.
Fairlie is joining Volpi as a member of its investment committee after eight years at Synova.
During that time he worked on Synova's sale of financial software developer Meritsoft to US-listed trade buyer Cognizant; as well as its buyout of UK-based independent schools group Chatsworth Schools, among others.
Prior to that, he has also worked at KPMG and Bank of Scotland.
Volpi Capital specialises in tech-enabled B2B software, data and services businesses in Northwest Europe.
The firm closed its second fund, Volpi II, in January 2021 at EUR 323m.
It has already made two other new hires this year, bringing in Jan Bartkiewicz from Accenture to focus on the CEE region, and Fernando Piekenbrock from UniCredit to focus on DACH.
The GP is in the midst of selling Irish IT services provider Version 1, as reported by Unquote's sister publication Mergermarket.
