Index’s Dibner joins DFJ Esprit

DFJ Esprit has hired Gil Dibner, a former principal at Index Ventures, as a partner to focus on investments in technology-focused companies.
Dibner spent his time at Index leading the firm's seed and early-stage investment strategy across Europe, Israel and the US.
Prior to joining Index, Dibner worked as a principal at Gemini Israel Ventures, an Israeli venture capital firm. Dibner began his career as a technology equity research analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York. He then held the position of principal at both Genesis Partners and Gemini Israel Ventures.
During his time at Gemini Israel, Dibner worked on a number of deals including The Gifts Project, an Israel-based social group-gifting platform in which both Index and Gemini Israel invested seed funding. The company was sold to eBay in September 2011 for $20m.
Dibner's appointment takes the DFJ Esprit venture team of partners up to 10, making it one of the largest in Europe.
