3i loses healthcare chief exec
Denis Ribon, former global head of healthcare at 3i Group, has left the firm to launch his own fund focused on the small-cap space.
The departure comes as 3i gears up to raise a buyout fund, said a spokesperson.
Ribon was also co-head of 3i's French operations and has been at the firm for 12 years.
The latest departure is the third in a string of resignations at 3i. In June 2013, partner and managing director David Whileman resigned from the firm, with Nordic managing director Tomas Ekman also stepping down.
Three months later Whileman was appointed partner at Inflexion, where he focuses on the UK mid-market.
The listed firm has been in exit mode this year, completing 15 divestments via secondary buyouts, trade sales, recapitalisations or write-downs, according to unquote" data.
The firm's most recent deal was the €110m investment in Dutch discount gym chain Basic-Fit in exchange for a 55% stake.
