HgCapital promotes 15
HgCapital has announced several new directors as part of a company-wide swathe of promotions.
In total, there have been 15 internal promotions, including the appointment of several directors.
In the services team, Andrew Land has been promoted to partner, with Simon Cottle and Thorsten Toepfer promoted to director.
Land joined the firm in 2011 from Och-Ziff Capital Management and has 15 years' experience in private equity. He led HgCapital's acquisitions of Zenith and Leasedrive.
Cottle joined in 2011 from Cognetas, having previously worked at Deutsche Bank. Thorsten is a former employee of Hellman & Friedman; he joined HgCapital in 2011.
In the Mercury TMT team, which focuses on lower mid-market buyouts in TMT sub-sectors, Sebastien Briens and David Issott have been made director. Briens was a former principal at Quadrangle, which he left for HgCapital in 2011. Issott joined the company in 2012, leaving a post at Apax Partners where he spent 10 years in London and New York.
In the renewable power team, Luis Quiroga has been promoted to director. He has been at HgCapital since 2009, joining from Credit Suisse's energy and utilities team.
