
Hands puts personal cash in Terra Firma fund
Guy Hands has pumped £20m of his own money into Terra Firma’s current fund, according to reports.
Hands is thought to have made the investment, equivalent to over one fifth of his personal fortune, in order to keep the support of his senior team.
With the fallout of Terra Firma's failed acquisition of EMI, it is thought unlikely the firm's managers will earn any carry on the latest fund, and Hands has earmarked capital to be distributed to the investment team.
Terra Firma is also set to be hit by a drop in management fees as the fund hits is fifth anniversary, with Ts&Cs causing the fee to drop by half from its current 1.5%.
