IRELAND - Apax interested in Bank of Ireland
According to reports, private equity firm Apax Partners is examining the possibility investing in Bank of Ireland.
The Bank of Ireland is thought to have told the Irish government it needs between EUR 2-2.5bn to recapitalise its business. Government advisers, however, are said to fear the sum is not enough, increasing speculation in recent weeks about potential investment in the Irish banking sector.
