UK - Carlyle acquires Gardner Group

Gardner Group is a supplier of metallic aerospace details and sub-assemblies, with a client base that includes Airbus, Rolls-Royce and BAe Systems. The Nuneaton-based company employs over 800 staff and generates revenues in excess of USD 100m.

Dunedin originally invested £16m into Gardner in 2003, with Rolls-Royce being brought in as a minority investor in 2005.

GE and HSBC provided the debt package for the deal. The transaction is the first from Carlyle's EUR 530m second European technology fund, Carlyle Europe Technology Partners II.
