Carlyle appoints Faillenet to energy-focused fund
Carlyle’s dedicated energy fund, Carlyle International Energy Partners (CIEP), has appointed Perenco’s Eric Faillenet as a principal.
Faillenet joins from oil and gas company Perenco, where he was most recently Africa regional manager. He spent 20 years with Perenco in various roles in Africa, Latin America and the UK, which included operating positions as well as roles in business development and M&A.
Faillenet holds an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale in Lyon, France, and an MSc in electronic control engineering from Salford University, UK.
CIEP was established in May last year to invest in the global energy industry, specifically oil and gas exploration and production, refining and marketing, midstream and oil field services. The largely London-based team is led by Marcel van Poecke and is part of Carlyle's energy investment platform, which has around $28bn in assets under management.
