Bregal reshuffles leadership
Family office Bregal Investments has appointed Steven Black and Quentin Van Doosselaere as new co-CEOs, effective from 1 January 2013.
They will succeed founding Bregal co-chairmen Louis Brenninkmeijer and Yves de Balmann. De Balmann will retire at the end of 2012 while Brenninkmeijer will take on the newly created role of non-executive chairman.
Black was vice chairman at JP Morgan Chase & Co from March 2010 to February 2011. Prior to that, he served as head of global equities (2000-2003), deputy co-CEO (2003-2004), co-CEO (2004-2009) and executive chairman (2009-2010) at JP Morgan Investment Bank. Black's former employers also include Citigroup and Salomon Smith Barney. He is a member of NASDAQ's board of directors.
Van Doosselaere joined Bregal in 2009. He serves as a member on the investment committees of Bregal Capital, Bregal Sagemount, Bregal Partners, Bregal Energy, Bregal Private Equity Partners, Ranch Capital Investment and Centre Bregal Partner.
Black will be based in Bregal's London office, while Van Doosselaere will remain based in New York.
