SPAIN - Nauta reaches first close at EUR 50m
Nauta Capital has reached a first closing of its third fund on EUR 50m. A second closing on the target of EUR 100m is expected in the coming months.
The investor base consists of institutional investors, which account for 55% of commitments, private investors, which represent 35%, and a GP contribution of 10%. Among the institutional investors are the European Investment Fund (EIF), Neotec Capital Riesgo, the Institute Catalá de Finances Holding and SegurCaixa. A select group of national and international pension funds-of-funds is to be added in coming months allowing the fund to meet its target.
Nauta III will target early-stage investments based in Western Europe, with a special emphasis on Spain, and the US. It expects to invest in 15 businesses, with ticket sizes ranging between EUR 500,00 and EUR 7m, with an average investment of EUR 5m. Sectors targeted are telecommunications, software and internet.
