SPAIN - Potential SOS Cuetara takeover
According to reports in the Spanish press, shares in rice and oil group SOS Cuetara were up 4.28% this week, making the company a possible target of a hostile takeover bid.
Early this week the share price rose from EUR 13 to EUR 13.65, giving the business a market capitalisation of nearly EUR 1.8bn and an enterprise value of around EUR 2.5bn. According to reports in The Expansion, likely bidders for the company include Abengoa and Ebro Puleva, partners in a bioethanol plant in Salamanca, as well as Apax Partners.
