KKR Europe promotes two to partnership
KKR has appointed Silke Scheiber (pictured) and Philipp Freise as partners in its European office.
Scheiber joined KKR in 1999 and is responsible for the firm's private equity activity in the European industrials and chemicals sectors.
Scheiber has worked on a variety of transactions including Demag, Rockwood, recently-divested SBS Broadcasting, Tarkett, KION Group, Wincor Nixdorf, and Zumtobel, as well as the SBO of WMF this summer. Scheiber serves on the board of directors of KION and WMF.
Freise joined KKR in 2001 and heads the firm's European media industry team. He led KKR's investments in Fotolia Holdings and BMG Rights Management, and worked on a number of other transactions in the media sector including SBS Broadcasting and ProSiebenSat.1. Freise serves on the board of directors of ProSiebenSat.1, BMG Rights Management and Fotolia.
KKR's European office is located in London and comprises 85 executives and 10 partners. Since 1996, the division has raised four funds and completed 36 transactions, amounting to $16bn in invested equity.
