Simmons & Simmons hires new funds partner
Law firm Simmons & Simmons has hired Dale Gabbert as a partner in its London-based funds practice.
Gabbert joins the firm following a stint at Reed Smith, were he headed up the firm's investment funds group for Europe and the Middle East.
In his new role at Simmons & Simmons, Gabbert will focus on the development of the firm's private funds practice. His key areas will include advising fund managers and financial institutions on the establishment, operation and governance of private vehicles such as private equity funds and credit funds.
Gabbert will also operate in the areas of secondary fund interest sales, joint venture funds and the acquisition and disposal of fund managers. He will also advise institutional, high-net-worth and sovereign investors on their investments in private funds.
His appointment follows that of former DLA Piper UK investment funds head David Williams, who joined Simmons & Simmons as a partner 18 months ago.
