UK - Maven reaps 50% IRR from sale of Cyclotech
Maven Capital Partners has wholly exited its investment in oil and gas company Cyclotech via a trade sale to M-I Drilling Fluids, part of the Houston-based M-I SWACO group, generating a return of more than 3x money and IRR of over 50%.
Cyclotech provides innovative separation technologies and processes for the upstream oil and gas industry based on its propietary hydrocyclone technology. The company's products are used on new and existing facilities, contributing to extending field life and improving environmental performance. Cyclotech has operations in Aberdeen, Stavanger, Basingstoke and Singapore.
The acquistion is expected to help Cyclotech expand its operations globally.
Maven (formerly the private equity division of Aberdeen Asset Management) invested £1.4m in May 2007 to provide Cyclotech with development capital to expand existing operations, further develop technological products and pursue its growth strategy.
