Carlyle, EQT, Nordic Capital tax structures exposed in Luxembourg leak
Details of secret tax agreements approved by the Luxembourg authorities for more than 340 companies, including a number of private equity firms, have been published by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
The ICIJ will also publish 16 other documents, including corporate tax returns, related to companies in Luxembourg. This adds to the already-published online database of the so-called Luxembourg leaks, which details 548 official tax rulings by the country's authorities.
Tax rulings about companies in the database include 3i, Advent, Blackrock, The Carlyle Group, IK Investment Partners, EQT and Nordic Capital, among many others.
Information about certain companies have been withheld, pending the ICIJ's publication of investigations in them, but the firms mentioned are rumoured to include some of the world's largest private equity houses.
The database can be found here.
