SPAIN - SI Capital appoints new chairman

Briones founded Terranova, the wind power developer, in 1991, and evolved the business into more than 500MW of installed wind power in northern Spain. In 2005, prior to its merger with fellow wind power developer CESA, the company had a pipeline of an additional 400MW in development. The merged entity was bought by the Spanish construction company Acciona for EUR 1.4bn in 2006.

SI Capital Partners manages a private equity fund, SI Capital R&S 1, which is registered and authorised by the Spanish stock exchange regulator, Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores. The fund, launched in Q1 2007, was seeded with EUR 10m and is now seeking to raise up to EUR 80m.
