BELGIUM - KU Leuven and EIF create Centre for Drug Design and Discovery

The Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) have entered a partnership agreement to create a Centre for Drug Design and Discovery (CD3). Both KU Leuven and EIF will invest a total amount of EUR 8m for the first years in this initiative.

CD3 will build upon research carried out in the biomedical field at the university in order to discover novel therapeutic compounds directed against biological targets which are investigated within the research groups. The centre will seek to collaborate with and/or license results to the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.
