ITALY - Foresight strengthens solar team with new hire
Environmental and technology-focused investor Foresight Group has bolstered its solar team with the hire of Diomidis Dorkofikis as investment manager in the firm's Rome office.
Dorkofikis joins Foresight from Millennium Bank in Greece, where for the past six months he has worked as a project finance analyst in the corporate and investment banking department. Prior to this, he worked at Alpha Bank in the loans and syndication department and was previously an equity analyst in the research department of National Securities.
In his new role, Dorkofikis will be responsible identifying new investment opportunities and managing Foresight's existing solar portfolio.
Foresight launched its first EUR 33 million solar fund in May 2008 and since then has made three investments in projects in Italy and Spain, with a total capacity of 19 MW. Foresight is planning to launch a second solar fund in the fourth quarter of 2010 with a target fund size of EUR 250m.
