
US venture investing rises 19% to $5.8bn in Q2 2005
US venture capitalists invested $5.8bn in 750 companies in the second quarter of 2005, according to the MoneyTree Survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers, Thomson Venture Economics and the National Venture Capital Association. Funding increased over Q1 2005 of $4.9bn, and approached Q2 2004 of $6.1bn. For the first half of 2005, investing totalled $10.6n, tracking closely to full year 2004 of $21bn. Over the past two years, quarterly investing has ranged from $4.6bn to $6.1bn.
