EVCA elects Fricke as chair
Uli Fricke has been elected chairwoman of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA).
Fricke, managing general partner and founder of Triangle Venture Capital, succeeds Apax Partners' Richard Wilson.
She also chairs EVCA's Public Affairs Executive, which will handle public affairs strategy for issues that affect the entire European industry, such as Solvency II and the AIFM Directive.
Fricke has set three priorities for the industry; to providing member-drive service, to "set the record straight" on private equity and to lead the wider corporate agenda in Europe.
"EVCA has long been engaged across this broad spectrum of agendas, encompassing environmental, social, employment, corporate governance," she said.
"But EVCA's voice isn't enough. We, as practitioners, must now engage with policymakers more directly. With EVCA's support, our industry must become a valued and trusted partner in the EU on issues touching our portfolio companies and the wider corporate agenda."
