EUROPE - HgCapital to close sixth fund on £1.85bn
Mid-market investor HgCapital is close to a final close of almost ТЃ2bn for its sixth buyout fund, above its original target.
HgCapital is a buyout and growth capital investor that contributes around £30m per transaction in companies with enterprise values of between EUR 75-500m, in either the UK, Ireland, Germany or Benelux. Sectors include health, industrials, TMT, services and renewable energy projects.
The achievement could be a sign that investor appetite for the mid-market sector is growing, particularly as poor returns from large-cap funds in the last 18 months has made LPs weary of investment in the area.
