Electra hires new investment director
Electra Partners has appointed Owen Wilson, formerly of Palamon Capital Partners and Candover, as investment director.
Wilson will work alongside chief investment partner Alex Fortescue in his new role.
Wilson joins Electra following a stint at Palamon Capital Partners, where he was involved in deals such as QualitySolicitors, a UK-based law firm that was purchased by Palamon in October 2011; Eneas Energy, which was acquired in September 2010 for NOK 375m; and sub-prime credit card provider SAV Credit, which the GP exited alongside Electra Private Equity in September 2011 for £472m.
Prior to joining Palamon, Wilson worked at Candover and was involved in the €1.5bn acquisition of Stork and the SEK 9.2bn buyout of Swedish mattress manufacturer Hilding Anders. Overall, Wilson has spent 13 years working in the private equity industry.
The appointment of Wilson follows swiftly on the heels of two promotions by Electra. Alex Cooper-Evans was recently promoted to head of investor relations, while Sarah Williams was made an investment director.
Last week Electra acquired South Lakeland Parks, a UK-based holiday parks operator, for £47m. The business will be managed by Electra's existing portfolio company Park Resorts, which the GP recently refinanced.
