Sylvain Héfès to head Rhône Capital’s European efforts
New York-headquartered GP Rhône Capital has appointed the former chief executive of Rothschild family holding company Paris Orléans, Sylvain Héfès, as European chairperson.
Héfès will be tasked with leading the hunt for investments in Europe for the GP, and expanding the firm's investment on the continent.
The Rothschild veteran joined the organisation in 2005, when he left his position as head of European wealth management at Goldman Sachs.
Héfès became a partner at Goldman in 1992, eventually rising to general partner, head of the Paris office and later head of the bank's private banking division in Europe.
At Rothschild, Héfès was the chair of the management board and CEO of Rothschild Group parent company Paris Orléans, a member of its supervisory board and audit committee, as well as chair of its remuneration and nomination committee.
Héfès's appointment follows in the immediate wake of Rhône Capital's latest fundraising effort, which saw the GP secure €2.6bn in commitments for its most recent buyout fund in just six months.
