Balderton on the road for fifth fund
Venture firm Balderton Capital has started marketing its new vehicle, according to documents filed with the US's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Balderton is believed to be looking to raise $400m for the Guernsey-domiciled vehicle – its previous fund, Balderton IV, reached a $430m first close in early 2009 and had an initial $500m target.
The firm typically makes initial investments in the region of $5m and tends to invest $15m over the lifecycle of a portfolio company.
Balderton most recently provided a £2m series-A round for UK-based online letting service Rentify in January.
The firm declined to comment on its current fundraising process.
