ITALY - Unipol Banca enters the world of private equtiy

Unipol Banca has launched new private equity player Unipol Private Equity with the support of Unipol Merchant.

Unipol Private Equity will seek to raise a EUR 150m fund that would will look to acquire significant minority stakes in SMEs and cooperatives.

However it is reported that given the size of some cooperatives, another fund set at around EUR 400m could also be launched.
