UK - PAI Partners bid for Cleanaway UK
Cleanaway UK, one of the UK's biggest waste management companies, has shortlisted about six bidders including French private equity company PAI Partners, in the final stages of its auction.
PAI's main competitors for Cleanaway are trade buyers including Spanish construction and services group FCC and Veolia of France. The sale of Cleanaway follows wider activity in the UK waste sector with more expected in the future following the announcement by Biffa's parent Severn Trent Water that it intends to de-merge the business.
