Evercore to open debt advisory practice in Europe
US investment banking advisory firm Evercore will open a dedicated debt advisory business in London, adding to its current presence in the British capital.
Evercore most recently worked as the corporate finance adviser to Silverfleet Capital in the GP's €200m acquisition of Norway-based AGR.
The new division will be headed by senior managing director Swag Ganguly, the former managing director and head of structured finance at Rothschild's debt advisory practice.
Supporting Ganguly in the management team will be former Lloyds Bank managing director Mark Craig, who will join the debt advisory practice as managing director.
Evercore CEO Ralph Schlosstein stated in a press release that debt advisory is becoming a central part of M&A advising and a valuable service to the firm's clients seeking debt financing.
The new division will add to the advisory boutique's existing debt and restructuring staff in New York and London, currently counting 30 professionals.
