UK - DN Capital backs MBO of Datanomic; 3i exits
Media and technology investor DN Capital has backed the management buyout of software company Datanomic Ltd, acquiring 3i's shares and loans in the business.
The deal represents an exit for 3i, a move which forms part of its new strategic focus on later stage growth capital, mid market buyouts and infrastructure investing.
Cambridge-based Datanomic provides compliance screening and data management software solutions. The company helps organisations save money, remain compliant with legislation, streamline business processes, reduce waste and seize more opportunities. Datanomic was founded in 2001.
DN Capital is the majority shareholder in the company, having invested in Datanomic in August 2003, helping it to build its senior management team and develop its international growth strategy. 3i invested for a minority stake in the business in March 2005.
