GERMANY/BELGIUM- Buchanan Capital Partners’ portfolio company Dehler makes acquisition
Buchanan Capital Partners’ portfolio company Dehler has acquired Belgian company ETAP Yachting for an undisclosed sum from the owner family. Through its Buchanan Unternehmer-Fonds I, Buchanan Capital Partners acquired a minority stake via a capital increase of German high-end yacht builder Dehler Deutschland GmbH at the end of 2007. Traditional Belgian shipyard ETAP Yachting manufactures leisure-oriented cabin sailing boats that are considered to be unsinkable and are especially designed for the needs of families. Founded in 1970, the shipyard has also been manufacturing motor yachts since 2003. Its current flagship, the ETAP 46DS, was voted ‘European Yacht of the Year’ in 2006 by a European expert jury, as the most innovative yacht.
